A battle for qualification: Costa Rica v/s Germany

The bottom two teams in World Cup 2022 Group E prepare for a scrumptious battle for qualification on Thursday, as Costa Rica line up against Germany at the Al Bayt Stadium. Hansi Flick's men left it late to rescue a 1-1 tie versus Spain last time out, while Los Ticos kept their desires of a last-16 place alive by defeating Japan 1-0.

Ignoring the seven-goal bashing at the hands of Spain, Costa Rica now plans to look ahead and bounce back stronger. They proved their mettle when they met with Japan to defeat them 1-0. An 81st-minute shot from Keysher Fuller sparked thrill and cheer amongst the Costa Ricans. Now, their fate lies in their own hands once more. A draw would suffice for Luis Fernando Suarez's  squad if Spain beats Japan.
