Atletico Madrid is looking to add a new striker after Memphis Depay and Alvaro Morata left. Artem Dovbyk and Julian Alvarez have been the most strongly associated names; nonetheless, the club's sporting department cannot completely rule out a surprise signing.
Niclas Fullkrug is the player who Atleti has their sights set on. The 31-year-old, who scored 15 goals for Borussia Dortmund the previous season, is reportedly ready to depart as Serhou Guirassy joins the team. Fullkrug has also been linked to AC Milan in recent weeks Dortmund would want to get a price of about €30 million. Although Fullkrug has shown in the previous two to three seasons that he is a very talented striker, Atletico Madrid is not likely to be prepared to invest €30 million for his services. Dovbyk would only be slightly more expensive, but that trade would make far more sense because he is younger and has experience in La Liga.
