A frustrated 10-man Atletico steals the draw from Celta

After Pablo Barrios was sent off in the seventh minute, Atletico Madrid played the most of the match with ten men, blowing the opportunity to take the lead in La Liga after the 1-1 draw at home against Celta Vigo on Saturday. Diego Simeone's team was hoping to steal the show at their Metropolitano stadium after champions and leaders Real Madrid had previously drawn 1-1 at Osasuna.

But Barrios' early dismissal gave Atletico a setback, and Iago Aspas gave Celta the lead with a penalty kick in the second half. Alexander Sorloth, the Atletico goalkeeper, kept the Rojiblancos one point behind Los Blancos in the 81st minute by saving a point with a brilliant effort. Pablo Duran was recklessly high-tackled by Barrios, who was also sent off in the first half of a Champions League match against Bayer Leverkusen in January.
