The Viola, thanks to a goal by captain Ranieri, keeps everything open for the return semifinal at the Franchi in a week's time. Fiorentina conceded a goal after 6 minutes, scored by Ezzalzouli, and the match became complicated earlier than expected.

At the start of the second half, De Gea is immediately decisive with a super save that keeps Palladino's team alive. However, in the 64th minute, Antony capitalized on a loose ball and fires a powerful and precise shot that left the former United goalkeeper no chance: Betis doubled their lead.

It seemed over for Fiorentina, but they found a spark and get back into the game thanks to a goal by Ranieri, who took advantage of Gosens' excellent play.

At Benito Villamarin, it ended 2-1, a result that leaves everything open, even wide open, for the return.
