Aaron Ramsdale, the goalkeeper for Arsenal, seems to be denying rumors that he has already decided to join Newcastle.
Early on Friday, reports surfaced from Sky Sports indicating that the England goalkeeper, who lost his starting position under Mikel Arteta this season to Brentford loanee David Raya, had granted his consent to a summer transfer to St James' Park. Raya is anticipated to finalize a permanent £27 million move to north London soon. But on Friday, Ramsdale appeared to put an end to the rumors when he posted the three-word remark "News to me" on his official social media account on X. The Daily Telegraph later reported that Newcastle was in fact moving forward with a deal to sign the 26-year-old for a possible fee of approximately £15 million in an attempt to compete with Eddie Howe's current starting lineup, Nick Pope, who hasn't played since December due to a serious shoulder injury.
