Crystal Palace are eyeing AC Milan defender Strahinja Pavlovic as a replacement for Marc Guehi, who is strongly linked with Liverpool. Journalist Henry Swain reports that Pavlovic tops Palace’s shortlist, and progress on a deal suggests Liverpool’s hopes of signing Guehi before the 7 PM deadline are rising.
Pavlovic, a 6ft 4in Serbian international, joined Milan from RB Salzburg last summer and has impressed with his physical style against Serie A’s best forwards. Palace previously targeted him in January after Trevoh Chalobah’s loan ended, but Milan demanded £35m while the Eagles wanted closer to £25m. It’s unclear if Milan still value him at that figure, but Liverpool’s £35m offer for Guehi mirrors Pavlovic’s reported price tag. Oliver Glasner, however, recently stressed he doesn’t want to lose his captain, who scored in Sunday’s 3-0 win over Aston Villa.
