AC Milan’s Adrien Rabiot sustains calf injury

Speaking ahead of the match, Didier Deschamps played down the injury and alluded to the AC Milan midfielder’s potential involvement in the FIFA World Cup qualifier.

However, it transpires that the injury is more serious than initially feared. Upon his return to Italy, Rabiot underwent an MRI on his calf injury. The scan showed a more serious injury that risks keeping the Frenchman sidelined for several weeks. The evolution of the injury will be monitored over the next 10 days, however, as things stand, his involvement in the next international break, in mid-November, when Les Bleus will look to confirm their spot in next summer’s World Cup, is in the balance.

At the very least, L’Équipe report, Rabiot will miss the match against Fiorentina, as well as the trip to face Atalanta later this month.
