Alcacer hopes he can start scoring many goals now

After making the huge mistake of leaving Valencia CF when the club needed him the most, Paco Alcacer has really struggled to find that form he had with the club he grew up in. There he truly was an idol an icon of the club and the city that wasted everything he had to go to a club where he wasn't really going to play much, it took him five months to score his first goal with the Barcelona shirt.

Talking to Cadena SER, he felt relieved for finally being able to find the back of the net: "Of course I am excited. I wanted to score. The coach has already told me that I am working well and I hope it helps the team. I needed that goal to gain more confidence. It's clear that when you come to a new team, you need time to adapt. I am fine and I need to keep working hard as the coach told me."

But he doesn't really look as if he will get more opportunities in the future, any striker who rejected Barcelona during the summer knew they weren't really going to have any minutes unless either Neymar, Messi or Suarez fell injured. For that to happen is very unlikely, but Alcacer chose to come either way. This will prove as an example of what happens when a good player chooses money over prestige.
