Alvaro Morata has joined Serie A side Como after spending the latter half of last season on loan at Galatasaray. The 32-year-old striker, who fell out of favour at AC Milan, arrives at a club that finished 10th in their first top-flight campaign in 21 years under coach Cesc Fabregas. “Playing against them last year, I could see their ambition,” Morata said. “I promise to give 200 percent in every training session and match. I can’t wait to wear this shirt.”
Morata boasts an illustrious career with stints at Real Madrid, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, and Chelsea, as well as captaining Spain to the Euro 2024 title. Fabregas praised his new signing as “an intelligent striker who delivers in big moments.” Como will open their Serie A season at home to Lazio on August 24.
