Alves apologizes for kick on Kane's head

Not even in the best Bruce Lee movies you see kicks like the one Portugal defender Bruno Alves threw right on Harry Kane's face. Luckily for the Englishman, Alves' foot just barely touched his ear, otherwise he would've gotten stitches. It was a clear red card, but Bruno Alves didn't really intend to do that, he wanted to apologize in public for the incident.

After Portugal's defeat against England, the man who left his team with ten players late in the second half, told the press: "This is an uncontrolled gesture, I did not want to foul, but I am late, I put too much commitment.  Unfortunately these things happen...I apologized to my team-mates and I thank them, I commend them for what they have achieved in the second half, 10 against 11.

"I am very sorry for what happened. I admit the mistake and assume the consequences. It is important to not repeat it, and I felt the support of all and now we must move on."
