Angers beats Rennes 2-1

Rennes' luck was not in their favor as they lost their unbeaten record. Angers squashed Rennes (2-1) at home on Friday. This defeat left Rennes in the third position behind Paris Saint-Germain, defending champion and leader Lille, which is the only unbeaten side. However, things started turning in the favor for Rennes in the 17th minute when Adrien Hunou, forward netted from close range after Flavien Tait, the midfielder's shot was saved. Nevertheless, Angers equalized in the 26th minute. This happens when Sofiane Boufal struck home with a deflection after clasping onto Stephane Bahoken's pass. He took the lead in the 57th through Angelo Fulgini, a midfielder's opportunist effort.

Rennes missed chances in the last five minutes. This is because Angers held on for a win to rise to sixth place.
