Angry Neville throws players under the bus

Just when people thought Valencia was already out of their dire situation after getting a decent two weeks in La Liga and Europa League. Valencia managed to get another two consecutive defeats in both competitions, the last one in La Liga against bottom club Levante at the Valencia derby this Sunday. Neville's team lost 1-0 with a Giuseppe Rossi goal that gave Levante hope of not being relegated by the end of the season.

But after the match, Gary Neville was fuming with anger towards his players, he doesn't believe they are committed to the cause and he apologized to the fans for this huge upset that puts Valencia in danger again:“Today there is no defense. I apologize to our fans. I take all the responsibility, that performance was unacceptable. This defeat is not acceptable. [Levante] have fought for every ball and we simply have not been at that level. On Thursday we’re not going to play with this level of [poor] intensity. We’ve got to stand up and say ‘enough’, ’that’s over’.”

The Che team has to play against Athletic Bilbao next Thursday at Mestalla, where they will have the support of their people. But if they want to win this match and over come the 1-0 disadvantage they have, the players and Neville will need to work together in order to turn things around and not get eliminated from the continental tournament. A lot of people thought things were already fixed, but the truth is that the players are still going through a process of rediscovery with this new manager.
