Wolverhampton Wanderers defeated Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park on Saturday, giving them their first Premier League victory of the year and adding more agony to their wasteful hosts. Sasa Kalajdzic's goal came three minutes from the finish. After riding their luck as Everton missed multiple chances to take the lead, substitute Kalajdzic headed home a cross from Pedro Neto to give Wolves their first points of the year.
Everton appeared to be the more threatening team, but they are still without a goal and a point after another demoralizing setback that was an exact replica of their loss to Fulham on the first day of the season. Due to their three losses this season, the Merseysiders remain mired at the bottom of the rankings. With three points, Wolves are fifteenth.
