Argentina players hope Messi reconsiders

Judging on what Argentina has one in the last three years in football, there is no denying that they can be considered one of the best national teams in the world right now. Not being able to win a final is something completely left to chance, the hard part and what needs to be pointed out from all this, is reaching those finals. But for Leo Messi this torture can't keep on going, he decided to leave the national team and announced his retirement after the match.

But behind Messi more players will follow, people like Javier Mascherano, Gonzalo Higuain, Sergio Aguero and others are seriously considering on following their skippers' steps. After the game, both Aguero and Romero spoke to the press when they found out about Messi's message. He told reporters: "We are all s***ty, we are trying to think about other things and continue on forward."

"But it's hard. Once again luck has gone against us. Unfortunately, the most broken one is Messi for his missed penalty. It is the worst I have ever seen him in change rooms after the game. There are various players who are evaluating not to continue with the national team. It is the worst dressing room I've ever been involved in. Worse than the World Cup final in Brazil and the other Copa America."

Romero was also surprised with Messi's statement and refused to buy into the whole Messi leaving drama: "I think Leo spoke heatedly because we've let a good opportunity escape. He has the same thoughts as us."
