Tolu Arokodare is on the verge of leaving Wolves, with the Nigerian striker expected to join Ajax on a season‑long loan as the Dutch club continue reshaping their attack. The move follows a turbulent episode in which Arokodare refused to leave the pitch during training, forcing manager Cesar Peixoto to cancel the session. According to press and Dutch reports, Ajax will have a €22 million option to buy the 25‑year‑old, who would follow fellow Nigerians Nwankwo Kanu, Sunday Oliseh and Finidi George in representing the Amsterdam side.
Ajax view the 1.97‑metre forward as a complementary option behind new signing Marcos Leonardo, who arrived from Al Hilal earlier this summer. Arokodare joined Wolves from Genk for €26 million but managed only three goals in 33 Premier League appearances. His record in Belgium was far stronger, with 27 goals in 68 matches, including 21 in his final full season. He remains under contract at Wolves until 2029.
