Boca Juniors earned a dramatic 1‑0 victory over Lanús thanks to Tomás Belmonte’s 93rd‑minute strike, but coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena refused to celebrate. Despite securing three crucial points in the seventh round of the Primera División, the manager admitted his side “did not deserve to win,” stressing that Lanús had been superior throughout. Arruabarrena criticised Boca’s lack of fluidity and intensity, noting that the team must improve quickly with six matches in the next 20 days. He nonetheless praised the squad’s determination, saying Boca’s “heart” carried them through a difficult night.

The coach dedicated the win to Tomás Aranda and highlighted both him and Leandro Paredes as key figures in Argentine football. Arruabarrena also emphasised the importance of the passing sequence that produced the decisive goal, urging his players to keep creating chances. The victory offers temporary relief, but the coach’s blunt self‑critique underscores the challenges still facing Boca.
