Arsenal are in ongoing discussions over an initial loan for Marquinhos

Although it is early to discuss a deal for Marquinhos to join Cruzeiro on loan with a buyout clause, Ryan Taylor of the Mirror says that Arsenal is in discussions with the Brazilian team about the possibility. Although the two teams are still in talks over a possible loan deal, Taylor adds that whatever sum Arsenal receives is probably going to be little. After completing his one-year loan at Fluminense, Marquinhos' 2024 campaign ended in December.

The winger may be able to commit to the Brazilian team for the long run because that agreement also includes a buyout option. However, as the season progressed, the move started to appear less and less plausible. Early in December, there were rumours that Fluminense had decided not to purchase the 21-year-old. The player then appeared to confirm this by bidding the team farewell on Instagram.
