Serie A side AS Roma is set to give a huge transfer blow to Arsenal as they pull out of the race for Ainsley Maitland-Niles this summer. The Arsenal loanee would not get offered a permanent contract with Roma this summer as the England international failed to make an impact on Mourinho's side as well after falling down the pecking order with Gunners as well.

In the Italian top-flight tournament, the 24-year-old has played for less than 400 minutes and has thus affected the status of becoming a permanent member at Stadio Olimpico. The Spaniard would return to the English side at the end of the campaign now as Arsenal would have to deal with a £12m blow
