Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is allegedly a priority target for current loan club Fiorentina, following a string of excellent performances that have helped the team climb into the top six after only 15 games. Torreira has fallen out of favor with current manager Mikel Arteta and Fiorentina after spending last season on loan with eventual La Liga champions Atletico Madrid. La Viola may try to elicit the £15 million sum that is said to be required to get his signing.
After joining Arsenal from Sampdoria in July 2018, the Uruguayan made an immediate impact at the Emirates, helping the club win the FA Cup against Chelsea in a year marked by the COVID-19 pandemic. He also wishes to return to his native South America for personal reasons, but no agreement could be reached last summer. His performances in Italy, though, have reignited speculation about his future.
