Arsenal targets new star

According to reports, Arsenal has shifted their January transfer target to another gifted Serie A defensive player, taking a similar route to that taken when they signed Italy international Ricardo Calafiori.

Mikel Arteta's team had a strong start to the season, winning both of their first Champions League games and finishing second in the Premier League standings behind reigning champions Liverpool. And it seems that sports director Andrea Berta is getting ready to make January additions as well, following a summer in which they spent an incredible £257 million (€294 million or $344 million) on new players in an attempt to overcome that Premier League title hurdle. According to recent Italian sources, Arsenal is interested in signing Davide Bartesaghi, a promising star from AC Milan. Bartesaghi is in line for a rare start in Sunday’s clash with Juventus in Turin due to Pervis Estupinan’s suspension, with Arsenal sure to be watching.
