Defender Takehiro Tomiyasu's contract with Arsenal has ended, the team confirmed. After four injury-plagued years in north London, during which he made 84 appearances across all competitions, the Japan international departs the team. In a statement, Arsenal Football Club expressed gratitude to Takehiro Tomiyasu for his contributions to the team and wished him and his family the best of luck going forward.
Tomiyasu's departure coincides with a major turnover at Arsenal this summer, as Martín Zubimendi is expected to join after Jorginho, Thomas Partey, Kieran Tierney, Nuno Tavares, and Marquinhos have already left the team. The team is also negotiating with Brentford for Christian Nørgaard, a midfielder. Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, is determined to lead his team to their first trophy since winning the FA Cup in 2020.
