AS Monaco smash past Metz in a thumping 4-0 win

AS Monaco returned to play on Saturday, making the trip to the Stade Louis II a triumph after Frédéric Antonetti's team was thrashed 4-0 and have sunk to the bottom of the Ligue 1 league. Sofiane Diop scored the game's opening goal in the second minute, and Kevin Volland increased the hosts' lead with a penalty conversion in the 44th minute, right before the first clock expired. Keeping this tempo into the second half, Monaco scored their third goal, courtesy of Gelson Martins, in the 57th minute.

Not content with a 3-0 advantage, Monaco continued to push their opponents, and Wissam Ben Yedder scored in the 87th minute, assisted by Aleksandr Golovin. Monaco's next encounter will be away from home on Thursday, against SK Sturm Graz in the last Europa League Group Stage match of the competition.
