After watching Aston Villa fly out of the blocks in their first game since Steven Gerrard was fired as caretaker manager on Thursday night, Aaron Danks told that he would like to continue the ride for as long as he can. Danks was handed the reins at Villa Park after Gerrard was sacked on Thursday night and enjoyed the dream start as his side beat Brentford 4-0. Leon Bailey and Danny Ings scored first for Villa, and Ollie Watkins completed the job after the break. Danks, who is 37, was called to take over and is happy to continue for as long as he is asked.
Kristoffer Ajer converted Bailey's cross for his first league goal since August 15, while Ings converted the spot-kick. Villa pressed hard, and Ajer handled Tyrone Mings' cross to give them a 3-0 lead in the 14th minute. Ings converted the penalty. Watkins scored four minutes later.
