Villa scored three goals in 14 minutes against Fulham to secure their first league victory of the season, which at last seems fully operational after six weeks. This came after the team had a poor start to the Premier League season, scoring only one goal in their first five games. Under Unai Emery, Villa appeared to be the team they usually are for the first time since May.
Although their performance wasn't flawless, they easily outscored Fulham for a short while in the second half, scoring twice in 120 seconds. That was sufficient to prevail against Fulham, who appeared to be capable of achieving a rare victory at Villa Park throughout most of the first half. Raul Jimenez gave them the lead in the third minute, and the visitors appeared to be trying to extend it many times. Ollie Watkins opened the score for Villa and leveled the score; later, John McGinn and Emi Buendia also got on the scoresheet.
