Aston Villa eye Barcelona’s Hector Fort as transfer reshuffle gathers pace

Aston Villa are stepping up their transfer activity, with outgoings and potential incomings taking shape. Jacob Ramsey has been sold to Newcastle United, while Leon Bailey is close to leaving for Roma, having agreed terms in principle. Roma still need to strike a deal with Villa for the 28-year-old winger. On the incoming side, Villa’s transfer chief Monchi is keen on reuniting with Marco Asensio after his loan spell.

Manager Unai Emery is also targeting defensive reinforcements, and Barcelona right-back Hector Fort has emerged as a candidate. According to Fabrizio Romano, Villa have already made contact over Fort and want to remain informed on his situation this summer. With multiple moves in play, the next few weeks could see significant changes at Villa Park as Emery looks to strengthen for the upcoming Premier League campaign.
