Aston Villa squashed Newcastle United

Newcastle United has gone without a victory in ten consecutive matches by now. They suffered a 2-0 loss when they played against Aston Villa. In their last eight outings, the Magpies have scored just one goal.

Newcastle United was not able to get much of the ball. Moreover, they couldn’t connect on crosses. Not only this, they couldn’t get anything going in the attack. They terminated with five shots. The scenario was just like the rest of the matches in this dreadful stretch as well. There was only one on target. And, they managed to have 40% possession. On the other end, the defense was unexecuted by two poor plays. That too in the first half itself.

The opening goal for Aston Villa came as Fabian Schar’s deflection excellently set up Ollie Watkins. He is the one who took over Karl Darlow to the ball and heads it home. For some reason, Darlow didn’t extend his arms to try.  Moreover, he didn't punch the ball away as well.
