Atalanta makes a comeback with a 2-0 win over Lazio

Gian Pero Gasperini’s faith in Super Eagles attacker Ademola Lookman paid off as he delivered a stunning performance at the Stadio Olimpico to lead the team to a 2-0 victory against Lazio. Lookman has played a significant role for Atalanta this season as they now occupy the third spot in the Serie A with three points.

Atalanta traveled to Rome with hopes of making a comeback after successive defeats to Inter Milan and Sassuolo. They stayed dominant throughout the match, with exceptional counter-attacks, in the first half itself La Dea had 13 goal attempts. Within 23 minutes they were leading the scoreboard with Davide Zappacosta’s successful shot into the top right corner. Atalanta came back sharper in the second half and within minutes with Lookman’s superb assist Rasmus Hojlund put the ball past Lazio keeper Ivan Provedel easily.
