Atalanta was held back by Roma

Atalanta was reduced to a 10 men army and held off Roma well with a 1-1 draw in the Serie A match but missed out on going second on the table.  The third-placed team though managed to extend their unbeaten run to six matches. Ruslan Malinovskyi scored first in the 26th minute to give Atalanta an early lead.

But Roma's former Atalanta midfielder Bryan Cristante equalised later on with a long-range shot in the 75th minute after Atalanta was reduced to a 10 men army defending their 1-0 lead when Robin Gosenswas sent off the field with his second yellow card. Though Roma also saw their player Roger Ibanez being sent off at stoppage time. Atalanta is now one point behind AC Milan and is level on points with Juventus.
