A midfield player from Udinese has been identified by the management of La Liga powerhouse Atletico Madrid as a possible future addition. According to Mundo Deportivo, which cites Alfredo Pedullà, an Italian transfer insider, Martín Payero is the player in concern.
Payero has been making a name for himself in the engine room at the aforementioned Udinese for the last two seasons. The Argentine made 29 appearances in Serie A in 2023–2024 and has since made nine more this season before suffering an injury back in November. Payero, who can play a number of midfield positions, has long been praised in Italy for both his technical and character qualities. And the transfer team at the previously mentioned Atletico Madrid is said to have been interested in these presents.
