The Veteran Belgian international Axel Witsel would be playing with Atletico Madrid next season after completing a free transfer move to the Spanish La Liga club. The 33-year-old is well known for his skills, he has capped 124 times by Belgium. The player is contracted to stay at Bundesliga club Dortmund, until June 30, 2023, which is when his four-year deal is set to end. Witsel shared that both the clubs have agreed to the move for one season.
The midfielder would add a lot of experience to the club having played in over 600 official matches, and make up for the departure of Mexican Hector Herrera. He would be playing alongside Belgian international Yannick Carrasco. Witsel has played for Benfica, Zenit Saint Petersburg, Chinese club Tianjin Tianhai and Dortmund in his long career.
