Atletico Madrid slips after Granada defeat

Defending champions Atletico Madrid were left humiliated after the 2-1 loss against Granada which would be their 4th straight defeat in the Spanish league. Atletico are fifth on the table with a 17 point gap between them and Real Madrid. The Colchoneros got off to a shaky start when Antoine Griezmann and Stefan Savic were ruled out of the squad after picking up injuries. Joao Felix gave the team an ideal start at the 2nd minute as his low angled shot got past Luis Maximiano.

Unfortunately later, Venezuelan forward Darwin Machis equalized in the 17th minute. Later Felix’s header was ruled out as well and Jorge Molina grabbed the winner to add more misery on Atletico as they head toward winter break now. Meanwhile, Granada has turned their luck around with their fifth game without loss and third back-to-back win at home.
