Rumours regarding Antoine Griezmann's future at Atletico Madrid have reached fever pitch in recent days. While the French talisman was widely expected to see out the season, Orlando City has emerged as his most likely destination in MLS.

However, the timeline for his departure could be brought forward significantly. According to reports from 'Cadena SER', the Macon-born forward may call time on his Atletico Madrid career to join the American outfit as early as this coming March.

The report suggests the forward has already reached an agreement for an immediate switch to Major League Soccer, taking advantage of the open transfer window in the United States.

'SER' indicates that the likelihood of a mid-season move is "much higher" than previously thought, shaped by the club's current circumstances. Should the deal go through, Griezmann's final appearance at the Metropolitano would be the clash against Real Sociedad on Saturday, 7 March.
