Ghana winger Cristian Atsu will join Newcastle United as they embark for a preseason exercise in Portugal.
Atsu who has been on holidays in Ghana after the end of the season is expected to fly out to England where he will be joining his teammates to prepare for the new season.
Newcastle United will be in Portugal where they will play giants Porto and Benfica in a test match.
The Magpies will first play Benfica before taking on the Portuguese Champions.
Rafa Benitez and his side will return to England to continue their build-up for the new season where they will also engage themselves a couple of friendly matches before the new campaign begins.
Christian Atsu had a wonderful season with Newcastle United after joining the Club on a permanent deal from giants Chelsea.
The 26-year-old was deemed substandard by the blues in his three-year stay with the Club.
