Bale hails great point for Wales over Austria

With goals by Allen and an own goal by Wimmer, Wales had the chance of winning against Austria this Thursday, but a brace scored by Arnautovic got the local side to salvage a point against the powerful Welsh team. Chris Coleman's side is still getting stronger as a national team and have a big shot at playing the 2018 World Cup with Real Madrid star Gareth Bale as their absolute leader, he played a fantastic match against the Austrian national team.

His already familiar skills on the left wing was in full throttle this Thursday, although he wasn't able to score a goal, he was influential in both goals scored by the Welsh. With this point, Wales stays on top of Group D with 4 points, they are tied in points with Serbia, Austria and the Republic of Ireland, in what could be considered one of the toughest groups in this European World Cup qualifiers.

Bale spoke to Sky Sports after the match, he was happy with the result despite it being a tie: "It's a great point for us at a difficult place to come. We know we weren't at our best tonight. It was a difficult game against a very good team but this is what we've grown up to do, we grind out results when we need them."
