In the race for the 23-year-old Portuguese goalkeeper Luis Maximiano, Barcelona would have a hard time getting the coveted signature with Serie A giants Juventus also involved in the mix. In the summer transfer window, Maximiano would be leaving Granada where he established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in La Liga. The Portuguese climbed up the ranks swiftly after leaving Sporting Lisbon last summer to join the La Liga side.
Catalan giants consider Maximiano as a long-term successor for Marc-Andre ter Stegen after witnessing his performance this season where the 23-year-old has made 21 appearances and kept four clean sheets as well. Barcelona has also been linked to Illan Meslier as they look for a first-class shot-stopper in the upcoming transfer window.
