Barcelona barely comes out alive from Anoeta

Messi saying that Barcelona doesn't depend on him looking at today's match in Anoeta, turns Messi's words into a tasteless joke. If it wasn't for him and a little help from the referees, the Catalan club would've easily lost the match against a brave Real Sociedad that had Carlos Vela at his very best. The Donostiarra made Barcelona struggle throughout the whole 90 minutes, they even got ahead on the score sheet early in the second half but Leo appeared to give his side a lifeline.

Then came the controversial moment of the game, as Carlos Vela sent a potent shot straight to the bar and got in. But the ref didn't see the ball get in, Juanmi was there to push the ball in but the ref called an offside out of nowhere. The replay showed how the ball clearly got in after Vela's shot, and then Juanmi was in a legal position before pushing the ball inside. This was the winning goal but the ref didn't want to call it, fortunately for Barcelona, the Donostiarras didn't get to score again and a point was salvaged.

After the match, an angry Luis Enrique spoke to the press about the game and minimized Gerard Pique's incendiary statements in which he says they won't win La Liga playing like this: "The final assessment is very positive. We have taken a point from a match from which it was impossible to take any points. They have been infinitely better than Barcelona. If anyone comes from the outside and we swap shirts, anyone would think Barcelona is the other club. Pique? We are only on weekday 13. Don't listen to any interviews right after the match. This is the very first time we have been clearly inferior to out opponent but we will get better, because playing worst than today is frankly impossible."
