Barcelona loses shockingly, 1-0, to Almeria

Barcelona lost unexpectedly 1-0 against relegation-threatened Almeria, missing the opportunity to increase their lead at the top of La Liga. After playing to a 1-1 draw at home against 10-man opponents Atletico Madrid on Saturday, Real Madrid's title aspirations appeared to have taken a hit as it presented a good opportunity for Barca to improve their lead. But Almeria surprised many with their performance.

El Bilal Toure's goal in the first half gave Almeria the lead, and Barcelona, who had been eliminated from Europe by Manchester United on Thursday, was unable to come back, falling to just their second league loss of the year. The Catalan giants still lead the table by seven points at the top of the standings despite the defeat. While Athletic Bilbao's also suffered a 3-2 home loss to Girona earlier on Sunday.
