Barcelona secured a 1-0 win at Atletico Madrid

In the 22nd minute, Dembele scored past Jan Oblak as Xavi's team, without Robert Lewandowski because of suspension, capitalized on Real Madrid's loss to Villarreal the day before. In the last minutes, Ferran Torres and Stefan Savic, who got into a fight off the ball, were both sent off for Barca and Atletico. On matchday 16 of the Spanish La Liga, Barcelona defeated Atletico Madrid by a slim margin on the road.

At Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano stadium, Ousmane Dembele and Gavi combined for the game-winning goal in the 22nd minute, a close-range shot from the right side of the box. After a collision in stoppage time, Stefan Savic of Atletico Madrid and Ferran Torres of Barcelona were both given red cards. With 41 points, Barcelona is in first place, followed by Atletico Madrid in fifth place with 27 points.
