Barcelona was held back by Cadiz 1-1

Barcelona was held to a 1-1 draw by Cadiz and stays third on the table after missing out on the chance to climb ahead and stay eight points behind Atlético Madrid after they lost 2-0 to Levante and counted their lucky stars after Cadiz did not let them get ahead with a late penalty being converted successfully at Camp Nou. Barca’s Spanish league title run took a step back on Sunday and this comes after the 4-1 thrashing by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

Barcelona almost had an easy win on their hand with Lionel Messi putting them ahead in his 506th league appearance in the 32nd minute but Álex Fernández put his side on level late in the 88th minute and gave Real Madrid a chance to benefit from both the top-flight club lose out on easy points
