Barcelona’s Move for Leao Dependent on Rashford’s Future

Barcelona are reportedly unable to pursue AC Milan forward Rafael Leao if Marcus Rashford stays beyond this season. The Catalan club signed Rashford on loan from Manchester United last summer, and he has impressed with five goals and seven assists in 13 games. While the 27-year-old has expressed a desire to remain permanently, Barcelona have yet to decide whether to trigger the £30 million buy option in his deal.

According to Sport, the club’s previous interest in Leao ended when AC Milan refused to negotiate below £70 million, prompting Barça to turn their attention elsewhere, including a failed move for Luis Díaz. With Leao still valued highly by Milan, Barcelona’s pursuit would only resume if Rashford returns to Old Trafford at the end of the 2025–26 campaign. For now, Leao remains out of reach.
