Bayern Munich edge past Borussia Dortmund 2-1

Defending champion Bayern Munich solidified its lead atop the German Bundesliga standings after a tough 2-1 victory over rivals Borussia Dortmund in a highly anticipated clash on Saturday night in the seventh matchday of the competition.

England international Harry Kane and France international Michael Olise scored the goals for Bayern Munich in the 22nd and 79th minutes, respectively. Julian Brandt netted the lone goal for Borussia Dortmund in the 84th minute.

With their seventh consecutive win, remaining undefeated and without a draw this season, Bayern Munich raised its total points to 21, taking a five-point lead over its closest competitor, second-placed RB Leipzig.
