Munich's  has initiated formal negotiations with 31-year-old defender Eric Dier regarding the extension of his contract, according to Sky Sport Germany.

The successful completion of these talks is expected to allow the player to remain with Bayern for another year. This season, Dier has made 18 appearances for the Munich club, 10 of which he started as a central defender.

The English footballer joined Bayern during the tenure of head coach Thomas Tuchel, who currently leads the England national team. However, Dier continues to be an important part of the plans of Bayern's new manager Vincent Kompany.
