Bundesliga champions finished the season with a bang, a 5-2 thumping of Augsburg. Bavarians grabbed their 9th consecutive Bundesliga title, with Robert Lewandowski’s record-breaking goal. Bayern first went ahead in the 10th minute itself and then scored three more goals before the halftime itself and dominated the possession by 71% and 87 percent pass success rate and creating 20 chances along the way.
Though their backline failed to deny the 2 goals to Augsburg which were avoidable like most of the conceded goals this season. The seven-goal thriller saw both the keepers work hard with Gikiewicz saving 10 goals and 14 shots on target. Lewandowski also broke Gerd Muller’s fifty-year-old record for most goals in a Bundesliga season by scoring his 41st goal in 29 games.
