It's understandable that French Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is not happy for not being called-up to play for France this summer at the Euros, his reaction was utter disappointment. But one thing is just to be angry and another one is to jump on a bandwagon that puts him in a worst position to return. After the claims he made on Marca, there is absolutely no chance he will play with France as long as Didier Deschamps is the manager.
According to Karim, the coach has succumbed to the pressure of a sector in France that despise people with African heritage and Muslim beliefs: "He has bowed to the pressure of a racist part of France. He has to know that in France the extremist party reached the second round in the last two elections. I do not know, therefore, whether it is a decision only for Didier because I've gotten along with him, with the president, everyone."
Trying to explain why he wasn't called up with France, he doesn't think that the legal problems he had recently had anything to do with that, because he isn't guilty of anything: "In sporting terms, I do not understand why. At the judicial level, I have not been judged. I am not guilty, so we have to wait to see what the justice says. I like football and to play with my team."
