Ajax are reportedly closing in on the signing of former Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma, who is set to arrive on a free transfer after leaving Spurs at the end of the 2025/26 season. The 30‑year‑old Mali international has been without a club since his contract expired, following a turbulent spell in North London marked by multiple suspensions, including incidents involving laughing gas and repeated lateness to team meetings. Ajax, seeking further midfield depth after an active summer window, identified Bissouma as a low‑cost opportunity, with technical director Jordi Cruyff already adding Sofyan Amrabat and Julian Brandt.
Dutch outlet De Telegraaf reports that Bissouma will undergo his medical on Tuesday before signing a one‑year deal with an option for a second season. Bissouma joined Tottenham from Brighton in 2022 for €30 million, making 111 appearances, scoring twice and helping the club win the UEFA Europa League in 2025.
