Black Stars players still Optimistic despite defeat

Several Blackstars players have reacted after Ghana's Shocking 1-0 defeat to the Harambee Stars of Kenya.

According to Ghana winger Christian Atsu the Black Stars will qualify for next year's Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon despite losing to Kenya.

"It is football, we lost the game although we had a lot of possession and created a lot of chances we could have won the game but this is football and we just have to focus on the next game which is the most important thing to do now. There is nothing to be afraid of, for sure Ghana will qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon." Atsu told Accra based Joy FM

Kwadwo Asamoah’s Reaction

Inter Milan Midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has also admitted that the Blackstars must learn from their defeat.

According to him, the team must make the most out of the chances they create. The Blackstars created as many as 13 goal scoring chances but failed to put one behind the net.

Asamoah came off the bench to play his first game for Ghana in four years.

"We played so well and had a lot of chances which we could have won the game but we couldn't make it. This is a wakeup call for us and know that now in football there is no country you can beat easily." He said in an interview

Ghana are still top of Group F after Ethiopia defeated Sierra Leon 1-0. The stars have a four-goal advantage over the remaining teams.
