John Obi Mikel, a former Chelsea player, has urged the Blues to acquire Victor Osimhen because Mauricio Pochettino is rumoured to be looking for another striker. The 24-year-old striker was strongly rumoured to be leaving Napoli during the summer transfer window, but nothing came of it. Osimhen was a player who Chelsea wanted to sign, but because the Italian powerhouses were adamant about keeping their top player, they signed Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal in his place.
It's said that the Blues saw the Nigerian international as someone who might have changed the team's struggles in front of goal, but any attempt to recruit him proved challenging without Champions League qualifying. Osimhen looks to have continued where he left off after leading Napoli to the Serie A championship last season with 26 goals. The Nigerian has made eight appearances for Rudi Garcia's team so far this season, scoring six goals.
