Inter Milan striker Ange‑Yoan Bonny has officially completed his change of footballing nationality and is now eligible to represent the Ivory Coast at the 2026 World Cup. FIFA confirmed on Friday that the 22‑year‑old’s request to switch from France, where he featured at under‑21 level two years ago, had been approved. Born in France but of Ivorian heritage, Bonny is widely expected to be named in the Elephants’ 26‑man squad for the tournament.
The forward played an important role in Inter’s Serie A title win this season, contributing five league goals as a decisive option from the bench. Ivory Coast have been drawn in Group E alongside Ecuador, Germany and Curaçao. Bonny could make his debut even before the World Cup begins, with the Ivorians set to face France in a friendly in Lens on 4 June. His addition offers coach Emerse Faé another dynamic attacking option for the summer.
