Brentford defeated West Ham United 2-0

With goals from Igor Thiago and Mathias Jensen, Brentford defeated West Ham United 2-0 in the Premier League on Monday, causing the host team to suffer a club-record fourth straight home league loss to begin the season. With 10 points from eight games, Brentford rose to 13th place in the standings, while West Ham, jeered by its supporters, is in 19th place with four points.

Nuno Espirito Santo, the new manager of West Ham, will have realised the magnitude of the task at hand because his team was second to everyone else and only the woodwork and careless Brentford finishing kept them from losing badly. Thiago netted from 10 yards from Kevin Schade’s pass on 43 minutes and Jensen blasted into the roof of the net in added time to seal a victory that Espirito Santo will feel was far too comfortable for Brentford.
