Both teams had chances during the fiercely contested game, but it was Jérémy Le Douaron who scored the game's first goal in the 12th minute with a well placed header thanks to an assist from Kenny Lala. Nice gave it their all, but they were unable to tie the score before the final horn.
Khéphren Thuram-Ulien and Le Douaron had an impact on the Brest defensive early in the game for Nice. Brest, though, eventually became more adept at the game and started to manufacture their own opportunities. Le Douaron's goal, which came as a consequence of constant pressure on Nice's defence, continued to stand as the deciding factor between the two teams even after Terem Moffi was added at the beginning of the second half. The victory lifts Brest out of the Ligue 1 relegation zone, while Nice stays in ninth.
